About the role The role exists to provide high-quality, customer-focused financial information, analysis, modelling, training and advice to stakeholders across the Council including finance officers, managers and budget holders. This support underpins effective financial reporting, informed decision-making and robust budget management. A key responsibility is maintaining the integrity of accounting information including the chart of accounts and coding structures to ensure the production of accurate and consistent management and financial reports. The postholder will actively participate in all stages of the Council's financial cycle including budget preparation, monitoring, forecasting, year-end accounts closure and statutory reporting. They will ensure compliance with relevant reglations and deliver timely, accurate financial information. Additionally, the role contributes to identifying, mitigating and resolving financial issues, challenges and risks, supporting the Council's commitment to strong financial governance and resilience. Working model Minimum 2 days – needs flexibility as may need to be on site to attend meetings.
