Who You Are

As a Child in Need Reviewing Officer, you will have a deep understanding of safeguarding frameworks and processes within children's social care. With significant post-qualification experience, you are skilled at chairing meetings, facilitating discussions, and monitoring safeguarding concerns. You are committed to promoting high standards, improving outcomes for children and families, and ensuring compliance with legislation and policies.

What the Job Involves

Your primary role is to provide independent oversight and review of Child in Need plans under Section 17 of the Children Act 1989. You will chair Child in Need review meetings, ensure that the child's voice is central to all proceedings, and monitor the effectiveness of interventions. By collaborating with various agencies, you will foster effective multi-agency planning and accountability. Your responsibilities also include producing accurate review records, preparing reports, and contributing to service improvement initiatives. You will identify and challenge inadequate planning, escalate safeguarding concerns, and support the development of good practice across safeguarding services.
