Role

Who You Are

A dedicated and compassionate Social Worker with a basic understanding and awareness of the legislation underpinning adult social care services. You are aware of equality issues affecting the provision of adult services and committed to implementing the Council’s Equal Opportunities policies. With at least 2 years of experience in social care or social work with adult service users, you have worked with service users who have complex needs and those who are difficult to reach. Your ability to think and act clearly under pressure while underpinning ethical values of service delivery makes you an ideal candidate for this role.

What the Job Involves

The primary role is to assess the needs of vulnerable adults and their carers, ensuring they receive timely and appropriate care management assessments. You will promote independence and recovery, working as part of multi-agency teams to provide seamless health and social care services. Involvement in individualised and creative support planning will be crucial. You will also ensure risk management and safeguarding procedures are adhered to, and work with advocates and carers to meet service users' best interests. Regularly updating casework on electronic systems and preparing reports are part of the responsibilities, alongside promoting joint working with other departments.
