Who You Are

You are a professional with a deep understanding of SEND legislation and tribunal procedures, capable of managing complex and sensitive cases. You possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and are adept at negotiation and conflict resolution. You are detail-oriented and work well under pressure.

What the Job Involves

  • Coordinate responses to SEND tribunal appeals, including preparing legal documentation, gathering evidence, and representing the local authority at hearings.
  • Arrange and support mediation meetings between families and the local authority to resolve disagreements without formal legal proceedings.
  • Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice, tribunal procedures, and statutory timelines.
  • Liaise with parents, legal representatives, schools, and internal teams sensitively and professionally.
  • Provide advice to colleagues on tribunal and mediation processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of cases, outcomes, and learning points for service improvement and accountability.
