Who You Are

To provide high-quality social work leadership within SK FAST, holding a complex caseload while supporting and developing practitioners to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.

What the job involves

• Hold and manage a reduced, highly complex caseload.
• Provide practice leadership, coaching and mentoring to social workers.
• Support high-quality assessments, planning and intervention for children and families.
• Lead on complex Child Protection, Child in Need, PLO and court cases.
• Promote strengths-based, relationship-focused and child-centred practice.
• Undertake case audits and support quality improvement activity.
• Support practitioners with risk assessment, decision making and permanency planning.
• Contribute to service development and implementation of improvement plans.
• Work effectively with partner agencies to safeguard children and improve outcomes.

Skills

• Social Work England registration
• Qualified Social Worker with significant post-qualifying experience in children's social care
• Strong experience of Child Protection, Child in Need, PLO and Care Proceedings
• Excellent assessment, analytical and communication skills
• Ability to coach, support and challenge practitioners to improve practice
• Strong understanding of legislation, statutory guidance and safeguarding procedures
