Who You Are
Southwark Council is seeking an experienced Agency Personal Advisor to support young people transitioning from care to adulthood. Candidates should have proven experience in similar frontline roles, strong relationship-building skills, a good understanding of statutory responsibilities to care leavers, and the ability to work confidently with young people with complex needs. We are looking for individuals who are committed, resilient, and passionate about improving the lives of care-experienced young people.
What the job involves
The role involves working directly with care leavers, providing practical guidance, advocacy, and emotional support in areas such as education, employment, housing, health, and independence. You will manage a caseload, work in partnership with young adults and professionals to assess needs, and undertake actions to support their transition to adulthood. This includes attending key meetings, implementing pathway plans, and offering informed advice. The role requires office-based work for a minimum of three days a week with flexible hours to meet young people in various locations.
