The ability to build trust and communicate sensitively with residents, particularly those who may be vulnerable or require additional support, is crucial. Experience in inspections, record maintenance, and customer engagement is essential, along with a willingness to undertake role-specific training.

What the job involves

As a Building Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for conducting regular on-site inspections across higher-risk residential buildings and engaging with residents to ensure building safety and compliance. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting monthly building safety inspections and Person-Centred Fire Risk Assessments (PCFRAs).
  • Identifying and recording fire and structural safety concerns, and escalating them as needed.
  • Engaging with residents through building safety activities, providing clear safety information.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders, including housing management and external contractors.
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to performance reporting and continuous improvement processes.
