Who You Are
You are an experienced professional with a background in Building Surveying, Building Safety, or Fire Safety. You have a thorough understanding of building regulations and fire safety legislation, and are adept at collecting and reviewing data related to external wall systems and cladding safety. Your role is critical in supporting building owners to address safety measures and ensure resident safety.
What the Job Involves
This role requires you to engage closely with the Building Safety Team, internal enforcement officers, and external stakeholders to deliver the Private Sector Building Safety Programme. You will conduct desktop evaluations, develop inspection programs, review safety data, and collaborate with building proprietors to gather detailed safety information. You will also liaise with the local Fire and Rescue Service and other stakeholders, provide support to enforcement investigations, and contribute to program improvements. The working pattern includes three days on-site and two days for office work.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying or related field
- 5 years experience in Building Safety or Fire Safety
- HHSRS Survey experience
- Knowledge of key legislation and fire safety
- Familiarity with fire safety design principles
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills
