Who You Are:
You are an experienced children's social worker with over 3 years of post-qualification experience, particularly in child protection and safeguarding. You possess a solid understanding of the Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) model and have a proven record of working across various disciplines like mental health, drug services, and domestic abuse.
What the job involves:
This role is part of the innovative FDAC team at Liverpool City Council. You will engage in problem-solving and evidence-based interventions with families within the court system. Your main tasks will include working directly with parents, conducting drug and alcohol screenings, and engaging in intervention planning with a multidisciplinary team. You will attend FDAC court hearings and collaborate with judges to help parents overcome substance misuse challenges so they can safely care for their children. The role emphasizes a relational approach and involves working in complex family circumstances, including addiction and domestic abuse, while maintaining partnerships across multiple agencies.
