Who You Are
The ideal candidate is educated to degree level or equivalent and has substantial experience undertaking policy development, scrutiny, research, public consultation, or similar duties within local or central government or other major organizations. You should have a clear understanding of the potential of overview and scrutiny in local government and be flexible in your approach to work.
What the job involves
This role involves contributing to the Council's overview and scrutiny processes, providing committee management support, producing final reports, and co-ordinating reviews. You will support overview and scrutiny committees by preparing agendas, managing projects, promoting public awareness, and advising Members on protocols and statutory requirements. Ensuring effective communication, developing work programmes, and fostering productive partnerships are key components of this role.
