Role

Who You Are

We’re looking for caring and reliable people who enjoy working with children and young people. Experience with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is a big plus. This role is ideal for those returning to work after a break or for partially retired individuals seeking a valuable part-time role during term time. It's also excellent for gaining experience for anyone interested in working with children and young people within the educational sector.

What the Job Involves

You will help children and young people, many with additional needs, travel safely to and from school or college. You will support students during their journey ensuring their safety and comfort, step in to cover for unavailable Passenger Assistants, and work closely with drivers and schools to make each journey smooth and stress-free. The role requires flexibility as cover can range from half a day to longer periods. You’ll work Monday to Friday, usually between 07:00–10:00 and 14:00–17:00, during term time only. Hours can vary, and pay is based on actual hours worked. You must live within the Plymouth City boundaries or be able to reach a pick-up point independently.
