Who You Are
We are looking for a person who has proven experience at a senior level of working with young people within a residential childcare environment. You should have a relevant qualification that meets the equivalent criteria for Social Care Wales registration, in addition to a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People). Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential.
What the job involves
As a Deputy Officer in Charge, you will assist in the management and administration of a new Children's Home in Cardiff, ensuring it meets all regulatory standards and provides high-quality care to children and young people. You will help lead, inspire, and motivate both the home and staff. Your responsibilities will include ensuring sensitive service delivery, empowering young people, building positive relationships, integrating with local communities, maintaining professional competence of staff, managing budgets, and coordinating meetings.
