Who You Are
You are a qualified social worker with a degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work, registered with Social Care Wales. You have completed the first year in practice requirements and are working towards or have completed the CPEL Consolidation Programme. You possess a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and government initiatives related to social services, particularly the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014. You have experience working in multi-disciplinary settings, developing effective relationships, and demonstrating the values of social work.
What the Job Involves
Your role as a Social Worker in Children Services involves providing direct social work services to children and families in need of care and support, ensuring positive outcomes. You will work in partnership with colleagues across various sectors to deliver integrated responses, safeguard the rights of individuals, and meet statutory assessment and review deadlines. Responsibilities include safeguarding investigations, risk assessments, preparing and presenting reports, and ensuring access to early and preventative interventions. You will also maintain a specific caseload and uphold professional standards and practices.
