Who You Are

You are an individual with experience in working with vulnerable members of the public in housing, health, or social care within a diverse inner-city environment. You have a deep understanding of the complex needs presented by homeless applicants, both singles and families. You are knowledgeable about the relevant legislation related to homelessness and housing needs, and you possess empathy and advanced verbal communication skills to provide sensitive service in pressure settings. Additionally, you can manage projects and work effectively in partnership with various stakeholders.

What the job involves

The role involves providing an effective homeless prevention and relief service to residents in housing need, aligning with legislative frameworks. Key responsibilities include conducting holistic housing assessments, assessing eligibility for temporary accommodation, advising on private rental options, mediating between parties to prevent homelessness, and providing welfare guidance. You will input data supporting council returns, work towards achieving service excellence, and deliver high standards of customer care. The role also entails collaborating with internal teams and external agencies to prevent and relieve homelessness and supporting initiatives for vulnerable individuals like rough sleepers and victims of domestic abuse. You will also ensure compliance with safeguarding and data protection standards.
