Who You Are
You are a Principal Planning Officer with a background in development management, working within the Community Development Directorate. You have experience in managing large-scale planning applications, negotiating community benefits, and providing professional advice to various stakeholders. You possess a degree in Planning or a related field and are eligible for membership in the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
What the Job Involves
The role involves overseeing a team of specialist professionals to deliver planning advice, manage planning applications, and ensure quality planning decisions are made in a timely manner. You will be responsible for complex and major planning applications, attend planning committees, undertake site inspections, and prepare appeal statements. Additionally, you'll manage strategic development sites, liaise with internal and external partners, and represent the Planning Services in public meetings and inquiries.
