Role

Who You Are

You are an experienced social worker with a qualification in Social Work (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent) and are registered with Social Work England. You have a record of continuing professional development and possess qualifications such as a Best Interest Assessor or Practice Educator. You have a strong background in working with vulnerable adults, families, and carers, and apply a strength-based and outcome-focused approach in your work.

What the Job Involves

This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of health and social care functions for adults and carers in the Wirral area. You will work as part of an integrated and supportive team, planning and evaluating work with a multidisciplinary team. Key responsibilities include supporting the duty function within the Review Team, safeguarding processes, conducting needs-led assessments, providing social work support, and participating in community forums and initiatives. You will also be expected to develop learning materials and take responsibility for your own practice while supporting others.

Skills

  • Applied knowledge of The Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983, and Mental Capacity Act
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals and practice anti-discriminatory principles
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise caseloads
  • Critical reflection and analysis for decision making
  • Communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Proficiency with IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office)
