This is a sickness cover for at least 3 months for a Team Manager in a busy Assessment Team. The successful candidate needs to be able to hit the ground running, have experience in managing assessment teams and be available at short notice because the post needs to be filled imminently. The successful candidate will be managing a busy team of 6 social workers (including one ASYE) and an advanced practitioner. The team will be on duty every five weeks and the Team Manager will be responsible for case allocations, chairing strategy meetings and ensuring risks for children and young people are assessed quickly and managed effectively. The Team Manager will ensure Child and Family Assessments, s47 enquiries and visits are completed in line with statutory timescales and progress case transfers without delay. They will quality assure court reports and other legal documents, attend court and chair PLO meetings where necessary. The Team Manager will provide regular formal and ad-hoc supervision to ensure management oversight on families and provide support and case direction to social workers. In return, the Team Manager will be assisted in their managerial tasks by the Advanced Practitioner, who leads on improving practice and meeting KPIs in the team. They will be part of a friendly and supportive management and leadership group and have access to training and receive monthly supervision with the Service Manager. This role is hybrid working with an expectation to be in the office 2x/week and for the full duty week every 5 weeks.
