Streetworks Inspector (Grade 12)

Who You Are

You are ideally Street Works Supervisor qualified with strong geographic knowledge of Somerset and excellent navigation skills. You are confident dealing with live on-site situations and comfortable engaging directly with statutory undertakers and the public.

What the job involves

Your role will include:

• Meeting with statutory undertakers to discuss compliance, performance, and upcoming works.
• Inspecting live work sites and completed reinstatements to ensure they meet required standards.
• Identifying defective works, issuing instructions for remedial action, and ensuring compliance.
• Recording inspections using handheld devices and systems like Confirm and Street Manager.
• Checking diversion routes and temporary traffic management for compliance.
• Carrying out post-closure inspections to identify damage and directing remedial actions.
• Supporting site-based advice for coordinators and statutory undertakers.
• Engaging professionally with the public, addressing complaints and enquiries.
• Providing evidence for enforcement processes, including overrunning works and non-compliance inspections.
