You are an expert in property and planning law, serving as the Council's principal advisor in these areas. You possess a deep understanding of landlord and tenant matters, deeds of easement, wayleaves, collective enfranchisement, leasehold extensions, right to buy transactions, planning agreements, and related legal frameworks. You excel in providing strategic legal guidance, drafting complex agreements, and navigating the intricacies of local government legislation concerning property and planning.
What the Job Involves
As the Principal Property & Planning Lawyer, you will lead the Council’s legal efforts in your area of expertise, managing a complex caseload and advising on top-level legal matters. Your responsibilities include advising on strategic policy creation, staying updated on new legislation, preparing reports, and presenting to the Council’s cabinet and committees. You will also guide the Council in legal affairs related to specialist areas and projects, providing comprehensive support across departments.
